I must say I am a little disappointed the other seasons are not posted. This digital painting was quite well done. It'd be nice to see the rest of the series.
I would imagine the first thing to strike my eye is the first thing most people notice - the flower. The shading and colouring is fantastic for sure. Even the texturing is depicted quite well. The flower part could almost pass for a photo.
On the topic of photography, I do like the blur / focus effect of the background.
This piece certainly demonstrates a solid grasp of lighting and shading. When I look very close, though, I do wonder about the stem and leaf. The textures are well done. The stem, though, seems a little flat and ``plastic'' to me. Perhaps it seems a bit too shiny given the level of lighting the rest of the flower suggests. The outlines also seem much sharper than the softer edges of the petals. The water droplets are a nice touch, but they also seem a little flat as well. I'd expect the water to bead more - especially on the curved edge of the leaf where they'd otherwise be expected to fall off.
I would like to add, as a final closing remark, the ladybug is done very well. It certainly makes the scene more complete and interesting.
